Winyah Pest and Turf, LLC was founded in coastal Georgetown County, South Carolina, an area celebrated for its natural beauty, but also known for persistent pest and turf challenges. Founders Jonathan “JC” Tolson and Benton Smith, both lifelong locals of Georgetown and Horry Counties, experienced these challenges firsthand after working through pest and turf issues in lowcountry homes and landscapes.

After tackling pest and turf issues in and around local properties and evaluating existing service options, JC and Benton recognized an opportunity to provide a better, more effective solution. JC holds degrees in Natural Resources and Forest Resource Management from Clemson University and has hands-on experience with a wide range of pest control methods. Benton holds a degree in Turfgrass Management from Clemson University and brings valuable experience in maintaining healthy, weed-free turf across golf courses as well as residential and commercial properties, helping ensure landscapes look their best year-round.
